Get More Data From Your Screenshot Tool
June 16th, 2011 by Ben McCormack
Many of our customers are already using one of several great screen capture tools to easily get screenshots into FogBugz. However, if you’re doing QA work for web sites, you likely need to add additional information to the case once it is submitted. BugDigger takes care of some of this extra work for you by providing detailed data about the user’s environment when the screenshot is captured.
For example, let’s say I’m reviewing the FogBugz home page. BugDigger provides a Firefox extension that lets me create a bug report for this page in one click.
From there, it’s very straightforward to enter some basic details, edit your screenshot, and submit it to FogBugz:
This creates the case within FogBugz with some information about the user’s environment:
Clicking the BugDigger link within the case takes us to even more detailed information, including the user’s previous actions at the site before submitting the screenshot:
BugDigger has a fully functional free trial to get started with their service. In case you don’t already have a FogBugz account to link to, you can give us a try as well.
